Happy Birthday and graduation

Happy Birthday Sydney!

 Syd had her first birthday here in Saudi... She turned 15 years old. Tim and I thought it would be a fun party to have friends over and go to the pool. Tim even chimed in that we would bring cake and ice cream:) Syd was embarrassed by the thought and said she had it under control.

 I am pretty sure that Syd knows how to have fun. I was told to buy the pizza and paint. They had a blast!

 Congratulation Sydney.... Graduation here in Aramco is a big deal when you are in 9th grade. Many of the students head off to boarding schools in the summer. It was good bye for many of the kids that have been here for a long time. Syd will be attending the nearby high school. Out of 150 students in her grade 58 are staying. She is excited and so are we! 

Portugal

During May we made a family trip to Portugal. We met Tauni and Kurt, Kenton and Jessie there. It was such a wonderful time. Kenton served his mission there. He was the perfect tour guide despite our heckling and continuous questions. People ask me what we liked best about our trip and I can easily say it was just being together! 

So nice to see that they have their moments of not wrestling and slapping!

 Tauni didn't like me taking pictures of her and so I had to sneak them in when she wasn't looking. She was so nice to wear her bright jacket the whole time so that we wouldn't get lost :)

 Mason and his buddy Kenton! These two have a special little bond. Mason was the best supporter of Kenton on his mission. He didn't ever miss a day praying for him.

 Kurt was awesome! I am sure there were moments that he wanted to scream. The only time he was a party pooper was when he wouldn't let us go to a bakery after dinner!
